Our Story

Our journey in the hair industry began with our grandmother. After being separated from her sisters at the end of the Korean War, she found herself in South Korea, where she started working in a beauty salon, sweeping floors. In 1956, at just 18 years old, she became a hairstylist and later opened her own salon in the heart of Seoul’s Myeong-Dong district. She dedicated herself not only to hairstyling but also to education, training hundreds of students throughout her career, including her own children. Her expertise and passion led to the expansion of salons across California, New York, Chicago, Australia, and beyond.

Over time, our family's salon experience naturally evolved into developing products designed for the needs of professional stylists. In 1998, we launched the iStraight System, providing salon professionals with high-quality permanent hair straightening solutions for sleek, manageable styles. Through hands-on education, trade shows, and a dedicated sales team, iStraight System became a trusted choice for stylists worldwide.

Since then, we expanded our product lineup to include shampoos, conditioners, treatments, and styling solutions—bringing salon-quality results to both professionals and consumers. Today, at Hair Cortex Solutions, we remain committed to innovation, quality, and accessibility.
